The Alvington Singers are a non-audition chamber choir of between 30 and 40 singers, formed in 1985. We are based in Kingsbridge, Devon, and gather members from around the South Hams.
We enjoy singing a wide range of sacred and secular music with our inspiring Musical Director Robin Stubbs, and usually arrange a number of concerts locally throughout the year - including regularly singing at Buckfast Abbey.
REHEARSALS & RECRUITMENT
We rehearse every Wednesday evening from 7.00 - 9.00 p.m. in term time at The Methodist Church in Kingsbridge. Our Autumn Term runs from Wednesday 2nd September to Wednesday 16th December 2026. We are a small, friendly group of singers and rehearsals are usually a fun and positive experience!
We are always keen to hear from new singers, and are currently looking to recruit in our Tenor and Bass sections. UPCOMING CONCERTS
We are singing next at a small, informal concert in The South Hams Christian Fellowship Chapel in Kingsbridge on Saturday 3rd October 2026 at 7.30 p.m. This will be our first performance with our wonderful new Musical Director, Robin Stubbs.
Our ever-popular Christmas Concert in St. Edmund's Church, Kingsbridge is planned for Wednesday 16th December 2026 at 7.30 p.m.
We have exciting plans for next year, including our annual concert at Buckfast Abbey alongside other concerts and workshops in the South Hams area - all details to follow.
